The Green Marathon from Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions", which takes place within the framework of the Project with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Program Jean Monnet_Department, continues. The project is being implemented at the Department of Ecology of Petro Mohyla National University of Ukraine.
On March 29, 2023, a new topic "Green chemistry and green nanotechnologies" was presented to the participants of the Studios, which are representatives of a wide range of Ukrainian institutions.
It was an open meeting, where Ruslan Mariychuk, a leading expert in the field of green nanotechnologies, head of the Department of Ecology at the University of Pryasov (Slovakia), was invited as the speaker.
Issues related to the history of the formation and development of green chemistry, a fairly young field of chemistry, the main principles and best European practices of green nanotechnologies were covered.
The basic principles of green chemistry are presented, among which the following are highlighted: search for safe materials; economy of atoms; safer solvents; energy efficiency; highly selective catalysts; development of products that quickly decompose in the environment; search for green solvents.
The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the properties of nanoparticles and their fields of application.
