On June 5, 2025, World Environment Day, Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University proudly hosted the International Conference "European Green Dimensions: Fundamental, Applied, and Industrial Aspects." This pivotal event brought together leading experts from Ukraine, EU countries, and Great Britain.
The conference was a vital component of the International EU Erasmus+JM project "European Green Dimensions" (No. 101081525−JM EUGD), implemented with the financial support of the European Union. Its main goal was to serve as a crucial platform for discussing and developing solutions to the most pressing environmental challenges.
The symbolic date of June 5 underscored the global significance of the event as a day for the ecological community to unite.
Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University organized the conference in partnership with esteemed institutions such as the University of Prešov (Slovakia), the University of the West of England (Great Britain), the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the Tylihulskyi Regional Landscape Park, and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.
The program covered a wide array of critically important topics for sustainable development. These included the European Green Deal, climate change, energy efficiency, biodiversity conservation, water resource management, air quality protection, environmental monitoring systems, waste management, and education for sustainable development.
The broad geographical representation of participants – from Ukraine (Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia), as well as from Poland, Slovakia, France, and Great Britain – demonstrated significant interest in the conference's themes and underscored the urgent need for international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.
Before the conference, a collective international monograph, "European Green Dimensions: Fundamental, Applied, and Industrial Aspects," and a collection of conference abstracts were published. These publications serve as valuable sources of information, reflecting diverse aspects of "green dimensions" and fostering further research.
The organizers sincerely hope that the conference will become a powerful platform for knowledge and experience exchange, fostering new scientific connections and further strengthening international cooperation in the field of "green" technologies and policies.
