On February 6, 2024, a presentation of the book "European Green Dimensions" took place.
The publication was prepared and published within the framework of the implementation of the European Union Erasmus+ project by Jean Monnet "European Green Dimensions", which is implemented at the Department of Ecology of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Ukraine.
The authors of the book, Olena Mitryasova, professor of the ecology department, and project coordinator; Viktor Smyrnov, associate professor, and leading researcher of the project; Ruslan Mariychuk, head of the ecology department of the University of Prešov, Slovakia, leading expert of the project; Vadym Chvyr, a young teacher of the project, outlined the key aspects of the content of the textbook in his speeches.
At the presentation of the book, the first vice-rector of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Professor Vadym Kotlyar, and the vice-rector for international activities, Doctor of Law, made a welcome speech. Alla Koval noted that the European Union considers environmental security as an important component of European stability, and environmental green initiatives are defined as a priority area of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
Vasyl Petruk expressed his opinion on the content and direction of the book, as well as its significance for environmental enlightenment and environmental education Vasyl Petruk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Environmentalist of Ukraine, Director of the Research Institute of Environmental Design and Environmental Protection Technologies, Professor of the Vinnytsia Department of Ecology, Chemistry and Environmental Protection Technologies National Technical University. He is one of the reviewers of the book.
Dmytro Mats, Deputy Head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Mykolaiv Oblast, joined in the welcome speech.
The content of the book covers knowledge about green initiatives and the green road map; EU environmental policy strategies; green circular economy and low-carbon economy development; natural resources, environmental quality, and climate change; integrated management of water resources; atmospheric air protection; balanced management of land resources; preservation of biodiversity; energy efficiency and renewable energy; industrial and household waste management; green chemistry and green nanotechnologies; zero pollution for environmental cleanliness; energy- and resource-efficient construction. Special attention was paid to highlighting issues related to challenges for Ukraine in the field of green policy and practices through association with the EU.
The manual is written in Ukrainian and English and is addressed to students, graduate students, scientists, practitioners, public figures, and all those interested in the field of ecology, environmental safety, and interdisciplinary European studies.
During the event, copies of the book were handed over to the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University Library, the Central City Library named after M. Kropyvnytskyi, the Mykolaiv City Center for Environmental Information and Culture, as well as the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Mykolaiv Oblast.

The book, in technical terms, has excellent polygraphy, good design, and color illustrations, and is ergonomic during reading. The publication is indeed a victory on the scientific and educational front for the team of authors, as well as for all those who participated in the publication.
