The series of Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions", which takes place within the framework of the Project with the support of the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union Jean Monnet_Chair, continues.
On February 8, 2023, the topic "The strategies of EU environmental policy" was presented to the participants. The main issues of the meeting were:
· UN Environment Program;
· UN Conference on Climate Change;
· EU-US relations on environmental issues;
· Road map of Ukraine's participation in the European Green Deal.
The main directions of UNEP's work were discussed and defined. The main initiatives of Ukraine at the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) are highlighted. Directions for the restoration of the energy and environmental protection sector of Ukraine in the post-war period are proposed. The ways of cooperation between the European Union and the United States of America in matters of energy and sustainable development are outlined. Attention was focused on the development by Ukraine and the EU of the Roadmap for Ukraine's participation in the European Green Deal (EGD).
The main conclusions of the meeting: UNEP's driving mechanism for environmental protection is the "Environment and Security Initiative"; the common goal of the EU and the USA is liberalization and increased stability in global energy markets; The EGD has an extremely large positive impact on economic and social life in Ukraine.
