The Green Marathon from Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions" continues!
On March 20, 2024, the topic "Industrial and household waste management" was presented to the studio participants.
The speaker highlighted a number of topical issues, namely:
• national policy and strategic planning in the field of waste management;
• waste structure;
• main problems in the field of waste management;
• licensing conditions for the implementation of the economic activity of hazardous waste management;
• requirements for hazardous waste management;
• control system in the field of waste management;
• the Law of Ukraine "On Improvement of Settlements";
• status of waste storage facilities and ownership.
Viktor Smyrnov, associate professor of the department of ecology, emphasized that only 6.3% of household waste is processed and disposed of. However, Ukraine has an inexhaustible potential for implementing a recycling program at the state level, as the only civilized way of waste management.
We would like to remind you that the project is being implemented at the Department of Ecology of Petro Mohyla National University of Ukraine within the framework of the Project with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Program Jean Monnet_Department.
