The Green Marathon from Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions", which takes place within the framework of the Project with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Programme Jean Monnet_Department, continues.
On March 27, 2024, a new topic "Green Chemistry and Green Nanotechnologies" was presented to the participants of the Studios, which are representatives of a wide range of Ukrainian institutions. Ruslan Mariychuk, one of the leading experts in the field of green nanotechnologies, head of the Ecology Department at the Presov University (Slovakia), was invited as a speaker.
During the meeting, the history of the formation and development of green chemistry, a fairly young field of chemistry, its main principles, and the best European practices of green nanotechnologies were covered.
The basic principles of green chemistry are presented, among which the following are highlighted: search for safe materials; economy of atoms; safer solvents; energy efficiency; highly selective catalysts; development of products that quickly decompose in the environment; search for green solvents.
The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the extremely interesting properties of nanoparticles and the fields of their wide use.
