THE STRATEGIES OF EU ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

The Interdisciplinary Studio Series "European Green Dimensions", which is taking place within the framework of the Project supported by the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Programme_Department, continues. 💚
On February 5, 2025, Vadym Chvyr presented the topic "THE STRATEGIES OF EU ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY" to the participants. 
The main issues for the meeting were:
🟢UN Environment Programme;
🟢UN Climate Change Conferences;
🟢EU-US Relations on Environmental Issues;
🟢Roadmap for Ukraine's Participation in the European Green Deal.
The main areas of UNEP's work were discussed and identified. The main goals of COP29 were considered, which include setting a new climate finance target, implementing the Loss and Damage Fund, strengthening nationally determined contributions (NDCs), and ensuring global efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C. 
It was determined that the interaction between the EU and the US has great potential, but to achieve greater progress, coherence of actions is necessary. Their cooperation will be key to achieving global climate goals by 2050. 
The roadmap for Ukraine's participation in the European Green Deal is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity to become part of the global climate transformation, contributing to sustainable development and integration into the European Union.
