The "Green Marathon" is underway at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University at the Department of Ecology.
On April 9, 2025, participants of the Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions", which are held with the support of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Program, got acquainted with the topical topic "ZERO POLLUTION FOR THE PURITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT".
The speaker of this topic was Viktor Smirnov. During the presentation, he identified issues, in particular, the classification of pollution; the concept of "zero pollution"; the European Green Deal (EGD): strategy, goals, priorities; Ukraine and the European Green Deal; Healthy Planet Action Plan Strategy; European Environment and Health Atlas (2023); Ukraine and the EU Action Plan: "Towards Zero Air, Water and Soil Pollution".
It was determined that in 30 years the EU will be able to create an environment where pollution levels do not harm human health and natural ecosystems, ensuring a sustainable future for future generations.
At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that to achieve the goals of the EWC, it is necessary to switch to efficient district heating, providing at least 50% renewable energy, 50% waste heat and 75% cogeneration heat, which will contribute to reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency.
