"Energy and resource-efficient construction" - this was the topic that was presented on April 16, 2025 to the participants of the Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions". The event was held within the framework of the International Project, which is implemented at the Department of Ecology of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Program.
The speaker of the meeting was Viktor Smyrnov, who revealed the following issues: energy efficiency of construction sites, regulatory and legal support, product life cycle, future technologies in energy-efficient construction, building ecology, green construction goals, the green bond market in the world, examples of implementation in Ukraine and the world.
It was concluded that the implementation of water reuse systems, taps with aerators and smart irrigation allows reducing water consumption by 50% compared to conventional buildings.
At the end of the meeting, the participants joined the discussion of energy efficiency issues. Namely, buildings built to BREEAM/LEED standards emit 35% less CO2 than traditional ones. One A+ class office center can reduce emissions by 150–200 tons of CO2 per year.
