"CHALLENGES FOR UKRAINE IN GREEN POLICY, AND PRACTICE DUE TO ASSOCIATION WITH THE EU" such a topic was presented to the participants on April 26, 2023
Interdisciplinary Studies "European Green Dimensions". The event took place in within the framework of the International Project, which is being implemented at the Department of Ecology of the ChNU named after Petr Mohyla with the support of the Erasmus+ Jean Monet EU Program. At the beginning of the meeting, it was noted that today is the 37th anniversary the largest man-made disaster. April 26, 1986 on the fourth power unit of the Chornobyl NPP a powerful explosion thundered, which destroyed the reactor. The consequences of the accident remain a matter of discussion of the world scientific community to date. The Chernobyl disaster is attributed to
accidents of nuclear facilities of the highest level. They were exposed to radiation about 8 million people. A 30-km exclusion zone was formed around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and more than 100,000 Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes. In 2000 The Chernobyl nuclear power plant has completely stopped its work, however, the consequences tragedies will continue for many more years.
The very topic of the "Green Marathon" covered the questions that were raised interest among a wide audience, namely: the path to climate change
neutrality of Ukraine: challenges for Ukraine; "points of growth" of Ukraine in EGD; basic principles for reliable and successful "green" reconstruction;
sectoral challenges and opportunities.
